Minutes of the 2025 Annual General Meeting held at the Bulkeley Hotel Beaumaris on Friday 28 February 2025.
1. The Vice Chairman Alan Caughter welcomed members to the meeting.

2. Apologies were received from Dave Jones, Keith Bailey, Mike Ormond, Arfon Jones, Dave Mathias, Adam Harris, Barry Ward, Gwyn Thomas, Martin Davidson, Stuart Thomas, Daniel Owen, Matthew Owen, Andrew Hennessey, Olga Evison and Trevor Ashenden (15)
3. Condolences – Rena Begley. The Clubs deepest condolences to Brian and his family. Rena had been a long-time supporter of the club over the years and will be sadly missed.
4. Minutes of the 2023 AGM were approved and are available on the club’s website.
5. There were no matters arising.
6. Hon Secretary’s Report – this is available on the club website. The acting chairman would like a record kept in the minutes of all the hard work David Mathias had done for the club over the years. The acting chairman asked the meeting to think of a suitable acknowledgment of David’s work for the club. Peter Evison agreed to look into this. The meeting proposed and seconded that David Mathias should be offered a life membership of the club. The club’s constitution will need amending as at present there is a maximum of 5 life members.
7. Treasurers report – copies of the accounts for the period 1 October 2023 – 30 September 2024 were distributed. The balance at 30 September 2024 was £4966.29. Questions
· Did this balance include the end of season work done on the green
· The treasurer recommended that the Accounts should run from January to December and not September to September and this was agreed.
· The new bonus ball account will be shown as a separate entry on next year’s AGM
· Members questioned the purpose of the bonus ball. This account is designed to help boost club funds and funds will need to be transferred to the general account when appropriate
8. The meeting approved the accounts and the treasurer was thanked for his work
9. Subscriptions 2025
· Full membership £40 – no change
· Country Membership – following a discussion the meeting proposed and seconded an increase of £5
· Junior membership – free
· Social membership – proposed and seconded an increase of £5
10. Honoraria – meeting proposed and seconded a payment of £100 to the secretary. Treasurer to be offered £50 or free membership for 2025.
11. Team Captains reports 2024 – these are available on the club website
12. Election of officers:
Chairman – A letter has been received from Mike Ormond stating that he will be unable to continue due to ill health. The acting Chairman felt that members should think of what the club could buy as an acknowledgment for Mike for his work over the last 40+ years. Alan Caughter the vice chairman was proposed and seconded for the post as Chairman. Alan accepted the post of Chairman
Vice Chairman – Barry Harris was proposed and seconded for the post of Vice Chairman. Barry accepted the post
Secretary – The present long serving secretary David Mathias advised the meeting that due to ill health, he would be unable to continue in the role as secretary.
Tim Williams was proposed as the new secretary but declined the post. At this point Peter Evison agreed to work with David Mathias over the next twelve months.
Treasurer – Keith Bailey was proposed and seconded
13.Election of Team Captains 2025
Monday Captain – Geraint Owen was proposed and seconded
Tuesday Seniors – no captain elected
Tuesday Welsh Counties – Barry Harris/Adam Harris Proposed and seconded
A discussion to place about the sustainability of continuing with an A and B team. The meeting agreed that due to the number of players available, there would not be enough for two teams. There were concerns that some players would not get a game on Wednesdays. The club hope to recruit mew members for 2026 with a view to return with a B team. Already expressed an interest:

Saturday Coast League captain – Barry Harris was proposed and seconded.

Discussion took place about the Country membership and passed as per proposal

The Chair would like:
· Better communication with the Town Council
· Approach individual councillors
· Only sporting team now in the town
The green is looking as good as ever
The Chair thanked Barry Ward and Tim Wiliams for selling the raffles on Saturday
