The Chairman welcomed everyone, especially the three Beaumaris Town Councillors, to the meeting and commented that 2025 had been another successful year for the Club, both on and off the bowling green. He made special mention of the Club Greenkeeper, Barry Ward, who had provided an exceptionally good bowling surface to play on during the season. As per accepted practice the Chairman asked all present to stand for a Minutes Silence in memory of Derek and Dave "Taxi".

The Chairman then decided to bring forward Agenda Item 8 - "An Address by Councillor Alwyn Rowlands", concerning the Happy Valley Pavilion

8 - ADDRESS by COUNCILLOR ALWYN ROWLANDS.

Before handing the floor to Councillor Rowlands, the Chairman made an impassioned speech, primarily directed to the whole of the Beaumaris Town Council. He elaborated by saying that the Happy Valley Pavilion roof was now in a very bad state of repair and unless urgent remedial work was carried out on it before the start of the 2026 bowling season in April, it could jeopardise the whole future of the Club. A directive he had just received recently from the Secretary of the Welsh Crown Green Bowling Association, did in fact state that if a Club could not provide adequate and acceptable facilities for visiting teams, it could lead to that Club being banned from playing competitive League bowls.

In response Councillor Alwyn Rowlands was very positive, by saying that even though the Beaumaris Town Council were actively progressing plans to build a new Cafe and Bowling Club Pavilion for the start of the 2027 bowling season, he gave his personal assurance that the Beaumaris Town Council would instigate temporary repairs to the Happy Valley Pavilion roof to see it through the 2026 Bowling and Holidaymaker season.

Mention was made from the floor about the Structural Survey recently commissioned by the Town Council on the Happy Valley Pavilion which could result in the building being condemned.

Again, Councillor Rowlands replied positively, by saying that the Town Council would then look at temporary alternatives, such as a wooden shed or small Portacabin.

There was further general debate from the members present. Also, Councillors Parker and Hutchinson spoke to fully support what Councillor Rowlands had said and would themselves push the full Town Council to carry out repairs to the Pavilion Roof asap and also support the plans to build a new Cafe and Bowling Club Pavilion at Happy Valley by 2027.

After an extended debate about the Happy Valley Pavilion, the Chairman thanked the three Beaumaris Town Councillors for their contributions and ongoing support.

At 7.50pm Councillor Rowlands gave his apologies and left the meeting.

The Chairman then returned to the set Agenda.
