12th April.

Well we are into the second week of the new bowling season with the North Wales Coast League, the Monday Night League and Super League already underway.

The club is sad to report that over the off season, past members Terry Morris, Gavin Williams and Peter Lloyd all passed away

Also over the winter off season Dave Mathias was elected as the President of the North Wales Coast League on behalf of the Beaumaris B team. The league's Presidents Day will be held at the club on the 1st October with the High Tea and Presentations following at the Beaumaris Town Hall.

Th club is also pleased to report that Club President Bill Roberts has now recovered from his poor health problems and will again be able to play this season for the Coast League B team and the Veterans A team.

The club would like to thank Ken Parry for the many years of hard work he put in as green keeper at Happy Valley. Ken has decided this year to step down from his green keeping duties, with Geraint Owen now taking up his duties. In appreciation of his hard work Ken was made the 4th Life Member of the club at the 2015 AGM. Hopefully Ken will change his mind about hanging up his woods and will again be seen on the green before too long.

The club would also like to wish past member Callum Graves all the very best in his new career in the RAF.

The club would like to welcome two new members namely Elfyn Jones and Arfon Jones. Also past member Tony Hughes has decided to again take up his bowling interest and rejoined the club.

In the Coast League the A and B teams have both won their home games ( A v Rhos Park A and B to Llysfaen) but unfortunately they both lost their away games ( A to the Colwyn Bay British Legion and the B to Copperfields). Keith Bailey and Stuart Thomas from the A and Ken Thomas, Trevor Ashenden and Geraint Owen from the B team being undefeated. The B team were disappointed to hear that Bobbi Williams had this year decided to leave the team and join Caernarfon and play in Division 2.

Congratulations to Keith Bailey who has qualified for the finals day of the Colwyn Bay Open Singles on Monday 2nd of May with a first prize of £ 1000.00. Also congratulations to Keith and John Short who have been selected for the Welsh Mens home team to play Cheshire at the Legion on Sunday 1st May, with Barry Harris also being named reserve.

Mixed bag of results in the Monday Night League with Beaumaris losing their away games to Holyhead and Bethesda but winning their home game with Criccieth. With 13 teams in the league it was always going to be a heavy fixture list with 6 Friday Night matches listed. But with the Caernarfon B team withdrawing from the league at the "11th hour", it was too late for Fixture Secretary Tim Williams to revamp the fixture list. So now unfortunately there will be four byes for every team as the season progresses.

The Super League team tonight played their first match of the campaign away to Coed Talon but regrettably lost 7 3. Winners being Keith Bailey, John Short and Adam Harris. The team welcomed back Dave P Williams after an absence of some five years.

Again I must remind all club members that subscriptions MUST be paid in full by the 30th April 2016 or a " no pay, no play" policy will be implemented.
