Disappointing ending to the end of April for the both the A and B teams in the North Wales Coast League.

The A team suffered a shock 8 4 home defeat to Blaenau Ffestiniog on Saturday 23rd and an even worse 10 2 defeat away to Llanrwst on the 30th.

The B team went to Prestatyn Highbury on Saturday 23rd and suffered a 11 1 defeat with only Derek Stanley managing a win. More worryingly after being 3 1 up at home to Rhuddlan on the 30th, they lost the last six games to go down 9 3. Hopefully the arrival of May will bring more joy to both the A and B teams in the coming weeks.

The club would like to send their deepest condolences to Allen Parry whose Mother Gillian (Gill) tragically passed away last week aged 58. Dave Mathias and Tony Hughes attended the funeral on the 27th April at the Church in Bethesda both as friends and to represent the club.

The Wednesday Night League started on the 27th with the clash of the A and B teams. The A team winning 10 2. Wins for the A for Ken Thomas against Robin Davies, Derek Stanley against Dave Williams, Andrew Stanley against Martin Davidson, Dave Mathias against Daniel Owen, Alan Caughter against Tony Hughes, Barry Harris against Kevin Fallows, Brian Begley against Hefin Williams, Tim Williams against Dave Graves and for the B team Dave Edwards against Gwyn Thomas and Geraint Owen against Arfon Jones. Hard game next Wednesday against Llanfair A away.

In the Veterans League the A team were left game less on the 19th when the Penmaenmawr team failed to turn up and their game away in Bethesda on the 26th resulted in a 7 3 defeat.

In the Monday Night League the club beat Bangor on the 25th 6 4.

In other news Keith Bailey and John Short today( 1st May)represented Wales in their home leg against Cheshire at the British Legion Club in Colwyn Bay. Wales won the match by 38 points (plus 29 at home and plus 9 away in Knutsford). Regrettably Keith lost but John beat the legendary Noel Burrows 21 14.

The club would like to wish Keith Bailey the very best for tomorrow the 2nd May when he plays in the last 16 finale of the Colwyn.Bay Singles Competition.

Congratulations also to Brian Begley and wife Rena who became grandparents again the week before last when daughter Lotti (Sharon) had a lovely baby girl.

Also congratulations to Daniel Owen who has been picked as reserve for Wales Juniors in the away team against Greater Manchester on Sunday 8th May.

Finally, the Club would like to commend new green keeper Geraint Owen on the work he has done on the Happy Valley green. After a difficult start, Geraint is now getting more experience and the green is now starting to improve.
